Rabi Gangopadhyay, father Amlyaratan Gangopadhyay, Mother Amodbala, the birth year 1947 Bengali 1353, 1st Kartik, Village – Chholadanga, Post Office – Mankanali, District - Bakura. West Bengal.

M.A. in Philosophy from Kolkata University. MA in Bengali Language and Literature from Burdwan University. B. Ed. from Burdwan University. Has teaching experience at Jhatipahari Higher Secondary School in Philosophy and Bengali language.
Practiced writing since childhood, elder brother Suprabhat Gangopadhyay was then the country regular writer of Anandabazar. His first poem published in class seven "Kajlandi" on Asansol's daily script in autumn issue. Written in almost all the papers, small and big, published in the Bengali language, some stories and articles too. Awards : Insignificant. Noteworthy is only one to Be the first in all-India poetry competition judged by Poet Premendra Mitra. At the First year dormitory in college received fondness of some eminent poets, like Anand Bagchi, Sudhendu Mallick, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Shakti Chatterjee, Subhash Mukherjee, Kamalkumar Majumder, Vasudev Dev and some others. Readers like two Bengali science professors Himadri Chattopadhyay of Jadavpur University and Texas University Professor Purnendu Dasgupta. Both of them have two poetry books.
Family History : His wife Sarvani (Reba) Gangopadhyay. MA in Bengali Literature, B.Ed. teacher Currently retired. He have two daughters older, Rochna Chatterjee, MA in Bengali Language and Literature, Burdwan University. And younger Raka Ghatak, MA in English Literature from Rabindra Bharati University. The elder son-in-law, Himadri Chattopadhyay, M.Tech., Kharagpur I.I.T. also was a scientist C.S.I.R. currently in the Department of Engineering at Jadavpur University and younger son-in-law Professor Deenath Ghatak, Purulia J. K, college, Head of Department, Department of Philosophy. Grandson Soumya Gangopadhyay, M.Sc MBA, working at the corporate world and daughter-in-law Mahua Chatyopadhyay, M.Sc., M.B.A. also working in the corporate world. He also have five grandchildren - Agnishom, Amartyanil, Oishi, Orchisman, Rusha (Misti).
